Help me win

I got this idea from one of my new readers Claire, who said to me in an email that if public votes are needed for The Slimmer of the Year competition she wanted me to let her know.

Well, public votes aren't really part of it, but they do say at the end of the application that if there is anything we want to add we can attach additional pages.

I don't normally seek out compliments, but I would do anything to win this award, so here is my idea, in the comment section of this entry please finish the following sentence:

I think ms. ralph should win The Weight Watcher's Slimmer of The Year award because ________________.

If you don't want to share it here in the comment section, you can email it to me at suckingitin at gmail dot com, and if you need some time to think it over, I will be moving a link to this entry to the right side-bar up until I have placed my entry.

Thanks for your help.

...because not only has she shown a steadfast resolve to adopt a healthy lifestyle, but she has inspired others to follow in her footsteps. Mrs. Ralph has shared her journey with friends, co-workers, and strangers. In sharing her journey she has no doubt set others on the path to success. Her committment to being her personal best has enabled her to not only slim down, but change her life and the lives of those around her.

... because she has been such an inspiration to me -- she has been honest about the reality of losing weight, both the ups and the downs, and I have taken comfort and wisdom from it. And, I'm amazed that she is able to maintain an active social life, work schedule, and home life and still find time to focus on weight and excersize -- it gives me hope!

I think ms. ralph should win The Weight Watcher's Slimmer of The Year award because not only has she lost an amazing amount of weight, but in her doing so, she has managed to change her life style, thus making sure she will keep this weight off, and most importantly, for her determination to go public about it in her weight loss journal, and give inspiration to so many other people, me included. Not to mention she is gorgeous inside and out too!!!

(now you got to correct my syntax and grammar to post this in WW...lol)

A trip down memory lane

Hello to all of you all of you coming via Michele , thanks for stopping by and I only hope it was worth the trip over. I began reading through the questions on the Slimmer of The Year application today. Of course there are so many things I want to include, but I can't possibly write everything I want to or they will be getting a novel. When I started thinking of how long I have been overweight and the reasons I struggled for so long with food and weight issues a lot of memories came back to me. I've been challanged by my weight for most of my life. Granted some of that time I only thought I was fat when I really wasn't. The point is that I have been fat inside my head for as long as I can remember. One of the most shameful and embarrassing moments was when I was 15 and some of the boys in my class thought it was funny to sing "thunder, thunder, thunder thighs hooooooo!" when they saw me coming to the tune of the cartoon "Thunder Cats." That experie...

Weigh-in March 5th

I weighed in at 68.1, and was amazed to discover that I lost 800 grams this week. I've only got just over 5 kilos left to lose before I reach my goal. Like WOW. I mean wow. I am pinching myself. Can you believe this? A weight loss 2 weeks in a row?!?! I mean jeez, imagine what I could do if I got my butt up off the couch and started exercising. I think I owe it all to the Wendie Plan, which by the way I told all my fellow weight watcher' members about today. I tried to tell them anyway, but I couldn't say a whole lot because our leader likes to hog all the air time. It is weird. I've never felt so shut down in a place where we should all be sharing our ideas with each other. Isn't it a support group, not a one-woman-show? Plus she is boring and only talks about the same thing over and over again. I've heard enough about low GI foods, exercising, how her daughter is a dancer, and how good it is to eat protein for breakfast. I would try out a different ...

Very sad

I was just told in an email from my brother that my 16 year old cat has been left by my sister to "fend for himself," as she is leaving the area and did not choose to take him with her. I know he is too old to make it own his own as he has been living as a house cat for his entire life. At the moment he has arthritis and doesn't walk very well and he is going blind. My mother was keeping him alive by giving him his regular pain medicine and watching out for him. We were considering having a vet put him down a few weeks ago because my mom told me that he was urinating throughout the house and she wasn't sure if he would be better off dying now than having to suffer more health issues as he gets older. We had decided to put it off, but now I have to let him go because I know he won't survive this. I can't stop watching the news and wondering why all of the people have been left in New Orleans for so long without evacuation. It is difficult not to think it is ...
