An update

Well, on Saturday I weighed-in at 64.7 and registered a loss of 800 grams. What a relief it was to see a loss instead of another gain. Gaining more than twice in a row doesn't do wonders for the confidence.

But if yesterday and this morning are any indication, I'd say this week is off to yet another shitty start.

Most of the day yesterday mr. ralph and I spent our time compiling evidence of our relationship so that I can become a permanent resident of Australia. The application is due by the 22nd of June and I'm basically running out of time to get my crap together to hand in. So we had over a friend to do all the witnessing of the originals as everything has to be certified.

We ate takeout and I had the most enormous yiros you've ever seen along with a handful of chips, and they ate pizza. We had a few glasses of wine and he asked us to go with him to his house to play poker. We went along and picked up some booze on the way.

Now at this very moment, I have a head-splitting hangover headache. I don't believe I drank that much, but sometime after we arrived home my memory gets very fuzzy and when I woke up I knew that I had drank a hell of a lot more than I should have.

So what did I eat for breakfast? A cold slice of leftover pizza and paracetamol.

That's right. It doesn't get worse than this.

Well done on the loss!

Good luck with your application. I had no idea until recently that you are an American :o)

Why are you becoming an Aust. citizen if you're planning on moving back to the States? Is it just b/c your visa is running out soon?

I actually really like cold pizza, but not the feeling of being hung over! Tomorrow's a new day. Hell, even before tomorrow, this afternoon is a new afternoon!

Just so there is no confusion, I am not becomming an Aus. Citizen. Becomming a permanent resident will allow me to live here permanently, but I do not give up my US citizenship. I have to become a resident or I will have to move back to the US right now, and we are not ready to do that. I've been living here under a visa class called "temporary residency" Also, I will be able to live/travel here in the future without having to reapply for a Visa if I am granted permanent residency. Hope that clears it up for anyone wondering.

Oh, it gets MUCH worse - at least you weren't worshipping the porcelain goddess while taking the asperin. I haven't done it in since the 80s but I still remember the misery!

Oh, yes. I could be much worse. Been there, done that.

Good luck with the application. How long will it take to find out if you're "approved"?

Very well done on the loss. We went away for a few days and I picked up.... is really hard to keep going some days.

Ugh...I was in the same boat last week. After a hard day at the office, my husband asked if I wanted a martini when I got home and then we opened a bottle of wine for dinner. The bad decision was to have a SECOND martini. Boy, I won't do that for a long time...

Great job on the loss!

Would "he leaves his socks all over the floor" count as "evidence of [your] relationship?" :)

you beautiful and slim woman stop feeling awful right now!!!! You are less than 65 kilos honey!!! Repeat after me: I am not fat anymore!!!!

Do you really think that the chicks that were born slim and stayed slim for all their lives never ever eat chocolate, drink too much, or eat cold pizza in the morning?

they surely do!!!! Its natural, its human and its pleasurable too!!!

then, they wake up the day after and eat salads and grilled chicken breasts for a day or two.

This is it you know. Simple. And since you are a slim woman, you can drink your booze, eat your pizza, and then eat "wisely" for a couple of days.

Right? Simple ;o)

***hugs***

(oi...I could feel your bones!!!! ;o)

You'd better be extra nice to Mr. Ralph for a few days! This is his opportunity to get rid of you, you know! ;-)

A trip down memory lane

Hello to all of you all of you coming via Michele , thanks for stopping by and I only hope it was worth the trip over. I began reading through the questions on the Slimmer of The Year application today. Of course there are so many things I want to include, but I can't possibly write everything I want to or they will be getting a novel. When I started thinking of how long I have been overweight and the reasons I struggled for so long with food and weight issues a lot of memories came back to me. I've been challanged by my weight for most of my life. Granted some of that time I only thought I was fat when I really wasn't. The point is that I have been fat inside my head for as long as I can remember. One of the most shameful and embarrassing moments was when I was 15 and some of the boys in my class thought it was funny to sing "thunder, thunder, thunder thighs hooooooo!" when they saw me coming to the tune of the cartoon "Thunder Cats." That experie...

Life happens

I wish I could tell you guys that everything is on track and that the reason I have not been writing is because life has just been too good. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Winter is generally a crap time of year for me. I thought that this one I could get a handle on it and not have it get the best of me. I was wrong. Exercise? Who me? Eat healthy? Um no. Last night I wanted chips so mr. ralph went out at midnight and got us chips and dip and we sat in our pj's watching the England and Portugal quarter final stuffing our faces. Am I painting a pretty picture? For the most part I eat well. I do. I do not stock my house with these kinds of foods. I have learned that because I am an emotional eater, it is better if I don't. But mr. ralph is too easy. Where I won't go out and buy something at midnight, if I ask him too he will go for me. Yes, I do believe we are in a co-dependent relationship, even where food is concerned. We both eat when we feel emotional....

Unbelievable results

You may have noticed that I changed the 70 to the left to 71. I don't know how it happened, but I actually gained weight this week. What is happening to me? I don't know what is going on, but the scale did say 71 two days in a row. Yes, I am at the end of my TOM and that could contribute to some of it, but a whole kilo? I looked at my calorie count from this week and I went over 1500 only 2 days, Friday and Saturday. Although I did much better this weekend than last, I still struggled with eating more on my off days than during the week. Another reason I had a horrific week was the heat. We had 4 days of over 40C in a row. Now that is just wrong. I can't handle heat very well. I did go for a walk on Saturday and when I came home thought I was going to die from heat exhaustion. Not good at all. I almost declared this week a no-weigh week due to my TOM but have decided to take it as it comes. So I weigh 71 today. Excuse my language but that number really scares the ...
